The Toro Snowmaster 724 QXE is a medium duty, two-stage snowblower that features Toro’s innovative “Personal Pace” movement system.
Unless you have a lot of spare time on your hands and are a fitness fanatic, you should not be relying on a manual snow shovel to clear your driveway – that’s what kids are for! If a heavy snowstorm hits, the last thing you want to be doing is standing outside for hours on end shovelling endless inches of snow away.
If you live somewhere which gets its fair share of snow, a good quality snowblower which won’t let you down is one of the most important things you can own. A lot of snow can come overnight and having a good snowblower helps you cope with it easily.
Deciding on a snowblower isn’t an easy decision, but one model worth considering is the Toro Snowmaster 724 QXE.
This model is one of the fastest two-stage snowblowers we’ve seen. In fact, Toro boasts that it works 30% faster than competitive models.
Many snowblowers available on the market right now feature manual speed controls, which can be a bit of a pain to use. Toro solves this with its own “Personal Pace” movement system which syncs its speed with the pace you are walking at. Walk faster to move faster, slow down to move slower… simple!
Also, with electric start functionality, aggressively pulling cords multiple times is a thing of the past. If you’re looking for the most intuitive snow blower, the Toro Snowmaster 724 QXE is it.
Pros
- Speed up and slow down by simply adjusting your walking pace
- Clears snow at fast speeds
- It can be folded for simple storage
Cons
- Not ideal non-paved areas such as grass and gravel
- On the noisy side
Features & Benefits

This snowblower is packed full of features, which we will break down below so you know exactly what you are getting.
Single-handed control
The fact that the Toro Snowmaster can be handled with one hand speaks volumes for its efficiency and quality of design. It’s not clunky and can easily be operated, with its speed remaining relative to the walking speed of its operator. Being able to vary ground speeds according to snow conditions is a big plus, as this gets the clearing job done much quicker. Speeds are variable both going forwards and reversing.

Joystick chute adjustment
The direction in which cleared snow is dispensed can easily be controlled with the use of a single-lever joystick. Directions to both horizontal and vertical discharge can be modified, meaning snow is deposited exactly where you want it and not where the snow blower feels like putting it. This is all controlled with one easy to use lever.
Electric start and gasoline power
Its engine uses a four-cycle, 212cc gasoline power engine coupled with electric start capability. With this combination, you get convenience and ease of use by being able to start the snowblower at the push of a button while still retaining the performance and power which comes with using gasoline as fuel.
Ease of use from its simple design
Although the Toro Snowmaster 724 QXE does not throw snow as far as some models because it does not include an impeller, if you keep the product moving forward and full of snow then it will quite easily eject snow at up to 30 feet. The absence of an impeller means that the auger uses more power and can spin up to ten times faster than it could if there was an impeller included. Additionally, this also enables the product overall to be a lot lighter and use smaller tires for better ground clearance.
What Buyers Say
Buyers have heavily praised the Toro Snowmaster because of its end of drive (EOD) clearance ability. Lots of snowblowers, even the market leading ones, struggle with the heavy and icy mess the snow plows leave behind at the end of a drivewat. The Toro Snowmaster 724 QXE seems to consistently be able to handle EOD snow without issue. Buyers have commented that they do need to slow down when it comes to clearing EOD snow, though, because it is typically hard-packed and can slow down the clearing process.
A few buyers have commented that the Toro Snowmaster is noticeably heavier than other leading products. A couple of buyers also noted that the Snowmaster has a tendency to “ride up” over patches of snow, so this is something to consider if you are going to be clearing an area with uneven surfaces.
Conclusion
Owners Manual For Toro 724 Qxe Snowblower
Deciding to opt for a snow shovel and clear the decks manually might seem like a good idea…until a particularly bad snowstorm hits. If you live in an area which is prone to snowstorms, it always pays to own a decent snowblower.
The Toro Snowmaster 724 QXE is a pretty safe choice as it delivers both power and efficiency. With electric start functionality, an engine which delivers power using gasoline and relative ease-of-use, this product will never let you down and can clear snow up to 12 inches deep and 24 inches wide in a single pass.
